Implant 1 mm in diameter with a 5 mm thread, indicated for reduction and fixation of metaphyseal fractures, diaphyseal fractures and dislocations of the bones of the hand and foot and temporary intraoperative fixation and reduction of fragments. Implant steel 1.4441, chemically passive and non-magnetic on the surface.
Seventy millimetres is the shortest length in the whole threaded catalogue, and it exists for a very specific reason: in phalanx no more is needed, and surplus shaft is more nuisance than help. Five sizes cover from there up to 310 millimetres at the same diameter.
Supplied non-sterile, so the hospital can process it in its own autoclave cycle along with the rest of the instrument set. It is a single-use device: it is not reprocessed once implanted.
