Implant 3.2 mm in diameter with a 15 mm thread, indicated for reduction and fixation of metaphyseal fractures, stable load-bearing fracture fixation and temporary intraoperative fixation and reduction of fragments. Implant steel 1.4441, chemically passive and non-magnetic on the surface.
Three point two is a size that comes from the drill, not from the wire: it is the drilling diameter for the 4.5 millimetre cortical screw. Using a wire of the same gauge allows the path to be checked and left ready for the definitive screw without opening a second one. Five lengths, from 150 to 250 millimetres.
Supplied non-sterile, so the hospital can process it in its own autoclave cycle along with the rest of the instrument set. It is a single-use device: it is not reprocessed once implanted.
