Implant 4 mm in diameter indicated for stable, load-bearing fracture fixation and for temporary intraoperative fixation and reduction of fragments. Implant steel 1.4441, chemically passive and non-magnetic on the surface, suitable for patients of any age.
Four millimetres is the reference thickness in adult long bone: below it the pin loses rigidity when the fixation has to bear load; above it, bone stock is removed that is not always needed. Seventeen lengths, from 80 to 310 millimetres, let the size be matched to the bone without changing gauge.
Supplied non-sterile, so the hospital can process it in its own autoclave cycle along with the rest of the instrument set. It is a single-use device: it is not reprocessed once implanted.
