Implant 1.9 mm in diameter with a trocar point and flat end, indicated for reduction and fixation of metaphyseal fractures, stable, load-bearing fracture fixation and temporary intraoperative fixation and reduction of fragments. Implant steel 1.4441, chemically passive and non-magnetic on the surface.
One nine exists so as not to jump to two, and the flat end avoids the other jump, the one to a thread. Both decisions point the same way: remove as little bone as possible. Twenty-six lengths, from 50 to 310 millimetres.
Supplied non-sterile, so the hospital can process it in its own autoclave cycle along with the rest of the instrument set. It is a single-use device: it is not reprocessed once implanted.
