Implant 1.1 mm in diameter with a lancet point and round end, indicated for reduction and fixation of metaphyseal fractures, diaphyseal fractures and dislocations of the bones of the hand and foot and temporary intraoperative fixation and reduction of fragments. Implant steel 1.4441, chemically passive and non-magnetic on the surface.
Intermediate gauges exist because the hole grows with the square of the diameter, not with the diameter. That is the whole reason for this one one: to take one step of rigidity without taking two of aggression. Twenty-five lengths, from 50 to 310 millimetres.
Supplied non-sterile, so the hospital can process it in its own autoclave cycle along with the rest of the instrument set. It is a single-use device: it is not reprocessed once implanted.
