Implant 150 mm long and 1.6 mm in diameter with a 6 mm thread, indicated for reduction and fixation of metaphyseal fractures, stable, load-bearing fracture fixation and temporary intraoperative fixation and reduction of fragments. Implant steel 1.4441, chemically passive and non-magnetic on the surface.
One six is a gauge that holds, and six millimetres of thread are an anchorage that does its job while needed and lets go when the time comes. That combination is what is wanted in fixations planned as temporary from the outset, where the implant has a removal date from day one.
Supplied non-sterile, so the hospital can process it in its own autoclave cycle along with the rest of the instrument set. It is a single-use device: it is not reprocessed once implanted.
